Jennifer McKenna is a multi-media storyteller. She is creating (and drawn to) narratives that open doors of perception and perspective. She has been acting on stage, performing improv and collaborating with others artistically since the age of 4. This early dive into the language of story has fostered a deep love and respect for the integral role story plays throughout one’s life. Jennifer’s cultivated experiences with the art-form reflect her vision of storytelling as a trans-formative medium to build bridges of connection, integrity and shared wisdom.
Jennifer is also an arts advocate and consultant. She counsels educators nationwide, advises media professionals on the development of story content and supports individual artists to kindle the profoundly personal skill set of an inspired life.

“Jen McKenna has been an invaluable resource to me as a theatre practitioner. Too often there are serious dilemmas in pedagogy and how to handle situations not only with grace but with deep understanding and compassion is paramount. Ms. Mckenna not only encourages this kind of communication, but also offers deep insight into the issues of being an artist in a world that often de-values artists. She aims to create and promote a healthy approach to living as an artist but also encourages a rigorous look at one’s own life in order to help the artist live in a deeply inspired place. The most valuable aspect of this dialogue is that she is not disillusioned by the state of world; she sees, with eagle-like precision, what is needed and imparts that to all with whom she works.
I have gone to Jen many times when struggling with a particular pedagogical problem to gain insight into how to best open a conversation with actors that is both sensitive to their needs and proactive in their training. This vital combination is something Jen is constantly evoking in her teaching and her way of being. All artists need this kind of support. I am so grateful to have a colleague that brings this out in me as well.”
